OpenTrove is for preserving memories together.

These Terms explain the basic rules for using OpenTrove.

We have written them to be readable, but they are still important. By using OpenTrove, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, you should not use OpenTrove.

Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login information secure.

You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account details up to date.

You should not share your account with someone else or use another person’s account without permission.

Your memories remain yours.

OpenTrove does not claim ownership of your photos, videos, Stories, or Troves.

We only receive the permission needed to store, protect, and display your content for the people you choose to share it with.

This permission exists so OpenTrove can work. It does not mean we own your memories.

Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, videos, captions, and other content you upload to OpenTrove.

By uploading content, you give us permission to store, display, process, and share that content as needed to provide the service to you and the people you invite.

Troves and invitations

Troves are shared spaces.

When you invite someone to a Trove, they may be able to view, contribute to, or interact with content in that Trove depending on their permissions.

You are responsible for choosing whom you invite.

Only invite people you trust.

What you should not upload

You agree not to upload or share content that:

  • violates someone else’s rights
  • is unlawful
  • is abusive, threatening, or exploitative
  • contains private information you do not have permission to share
  • contains harmful software or attempts to interfere with OpenTrove
  • breaks any applicable law or regulation

We may remove content or restrict accounts when necessary to protect people, comply with law, or keep the service secure.

Respecting others

OpenTrove is designed for families, friends, and trusted groups.

You agree to use OpenTrove respectfully and not to harass, impersonate, deceive, or harm others.

Privacy

Your use of OpenTrove is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

Please read it carefully so you understand how we collect, use, and protect information.

Service changes

We may improve OpenTrove over time.

We may add, remove, or update features. We may also suspend or discontinue parts of the service if needed.

Where appropriate, we will try to give notice before major changes.

Account suspension or termination

We may suspend or terminate access to OpenTrove if we believe someone has violated these Terms, created risk for others, violated the law, or threatened the security of the service.

You may also stop using OpenTrove or request account deletion at any time.

No guarantee

We work hard to keep OpenTrove reliable, secure, and available.

However, we cannot promise that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at every moment.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OpenTrove is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as OpenTrove grows.

If changes are important, we will provide notice in an appropriate way.

By continuing to use OpenTrove after changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.
